Hue International Art Festival Week 2024
June 1, 2024Hue International Art Festival Week 2024, taking place from June 7 to June 12 and themed "Hue Heritage with Integration and Development," is one of the significant cultural events of Thua Thien Hue Province in 2024. This festival will feature a variety of excellent art programs from both domestic and international talented art troupes. The event aims to preserve and enhance traditional cultural values, promote tourism, and elevate the image and status of Hue City as a centrally governed city by 2025.
The opening night on June 7 will be hosted for the first time at Kien Trung Palace, a distinctive palace within the Hue Imperial Citadel known for its exquisite nature, fine arts, and architecture. The program will combine traditional Ao Dai fashion with 3D mapping projection art to create performances rich in cultural nuances from various continents. Thua Thien Hue will also host royal and folk festivals, particularly highlighting Hue royal arts and the cultural features of different regions in Vietnam. Nearly 30 art troupes from countries such as France, Belgium, Spain, Canada, Korea, China, Japan, and Vietnam will present art programs infused with the cultural identities of their regions.
During the six days and nights, there will be a series of rich and diverse activities, promising to bring new and exciting experiences for audiences to explore. The schedule includes:
- June 7: The “Festive Beginning” Program in front of Ngo Mon
- June 8: Street Festival “Cultural Color”, Beer Festival, Royal Banquet, Light Festival
- June 9: Vegetarian Cuisine Festival 2024, Floating Lantern Festival
- June 10: Royal Gastronomy By Night
- June 11: Photo Exhibition: "Towards The Paris 2024 Olympics!", Light Festival
- June 12: "Be with Hue Festival" (the closing program of Hue International Arts Festival 2024)
Hue expects to welcome about 100,000 visitors, including those coming from the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival. Additionally, 2024 will see the formal launch of the Evolution Express train project, designed to transport visitors along the scenic Hai Van Pass, connecting Da Nang and Hue. This daily trip will feature themed dinners at three different stations: Kim Lien (Da Nang), Lang Co, and Hue. Each station will showcase themes from different historical eras, such as the Hue royal court, the colonial period, and the independence era, allowing visitors to journey back in time.
This year's tourism hotspots in Hue and Da Nang promise to attract travelers from both domestic and international markets, offering unique experiences of the region's historical and cultural heritage.
