HCMC to Host 11th Annual Ao Dai Festival
March 1, 2025This year’s festival, themed "Vietnamese Ao Dai – Vietnam Rising," will take place on Nguyen Hue Street in District 1 and various other locations across the city. The festival will officially open with a grand music gala on March 7 at President Ho Chi Minh Monument Park on Nguyen Hue pedestrian street. A highlight of the event will be a large-scale dance performance on March 8, where thousands of participants dressed in Ao Dai will gather on the pedestrian street to celebrate Vietnam’s traditional dress.
The festival will also feature a series of cultural activities, including a grand parade of 3,000 women wearing Ao Dai on the city’s main streets, the "Miss Ao Dai" beauty contest, an Ao Dai design competition, and an online Ao Dai photo contest. Additionally, exhibitions will showcase the works of fashion designers from across the country, while an Art Street of Ao Dai will be set up at Lam Son Park and the square in front of the city’s Opera House.
Co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism and the city’s Women’s Union, the festival aims to promote the timeless elegance and cultural significance of the Ao Dai to both local and international audiences.
