TREKKING IN SAPA AND SIN CHAI(HNRT- ST 4)

 
Sapa is the most touristic town for discovering the main minorities of the north of Vietnam. During the trekking, you will be in the middle of magnificient landscapes and cross traditional villages to appreciate the local culture and daily life that make the colorful customes riched.


 
ITINERARY IN BRIEF
D1 SAPA–THANH PHU–SIN CHAI (L/D)
In the morning, transfer to Thanh Phu Bridge, the starting point of a one-hour trekking along the Ngoi Bo River and then uphill to the Muong Bo Village. 
In the afternoon, meet the local guide at the community centre for an introduction about the history, culture and traditions of the village 
Continue the walk to Sin Chai, the village of Red Dao people. 
 
Dinner and overnight in the village at a home-stay in the village (basic comfort).
 
Note: Approx: 1-hour driving/ 5 hours walking/ 1-hour lunchbreak
Note: Sapa is a town of altitude, it is not uncommon to experience temperatures below 10 degrees during the winter (November to February); only few hotels offer in-room heating. 
 
 
D2 SIN CHAI–NAM NHIU–MY SON–NAM TOONG–SAPA (B/L)
After breakfast, start the day by walking downhill towards My Son (11km). Visit a village of Xafo minority people also considered as the smallest ethnic group in Northern Vietnam.  
Continue walking by the road through the picturesque landscapes for an hour and a half until the Red Dao Village of Nam Toong (2.5km).
In the afternoon, continue the trek towards Ban Ho Village (2km) to enjoy the best of Northern Vietnam (deep valleys and amazing mountains). Visit the village and take some moments to relax or swim, if the weather permits before driving back to Sapa town.

VISAS:Most nationals require a visa to enter Vietnam and all travelers must have a passport valid for at least 6 months after their planned exit from Vietnam. Visa on Arrival service is possible with advance notice to Hanoi Redtours to prepare all permissions and documents.

 
GETTING THERE & AWAY : Vietnam has 3 international airports: Tan Son Nhat Airport (Ho Chi Minh City), Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi) and Danang Airport. These airports are well connected to major Asian cities with increasing international connections.
 
PUBLIC HOLIDAYS : Vietnam celebrates many holidays; however it is rare that shops are closed. The exception is Tet, the Vietnamese New Year - officially a three-day holiday but many businesses close down for a full week. This is the busiest time of the year for traveling in Vietnam and hotels, flights and trains are often full. 2012 Dates :  22-25 January.
 
LANGUAGE : The national language of Vietnam is Vietnamese. In big cities and in places with many tourists, people can speak basic English. As Vietnamese has six different tones, it is a difficult language for most foreigners to speak despite the fact that the Roman alphabet is used in the modern Vietnamese script.

WHEN TO GO?

Vietnam's weather varies greatly from north to south with each area marked by slightly different seasons and climates. Because of these regional variations, there are always pleasant and favorable areas to visit throughout the year. The north, overall, tends to be cooler than the rest of the country. During the winter from November till February, the day time temperature is cool and the weather often damp. Central Vietnam experiences warm weather from July to October and wet, colder weather from November to May. Although the temperature remains fairly steady throughout the year, Southern Vietnam has two seasons. The dry season lasts from December to May, while from June to November is the rainy season
