THE BASSAC CRUISE: CAN THO TO CAI BE (HNRT-ST 26)

In this tour which will bring you from Can Tho to Cai Be, you will see all the charm of the Mekong Delta inboard of a converted and fully equipped traditional rice barge: the endless parade of the sampans full of sands and rices, the floating markets, the family workshop and the temples along the branches of the delta.

ITINERARY
D1 HO CHI MINH CITY–CAN THO – MANG THIT             (L/D)
Depart early in the morning to Can Tho, the largest town in the Mekong Delta. If time permits, stroll through Can Tho market before boarding on the Bassac (at around noon), a converted and fully equipped traditional rice barge designed for great comfort.
After getting acquainted with the crew, sail through the Mekong Delta.
In the middle of the afternoon, the barge will anchor to visit a village on the banks of either the Co Chien or Mang Thit River for some tropical fruits tasting before returning aboard the Bassac to enjoy the sunset.
Local dinner on board as the Bassac reaches its destination on the Mang Thit River.
Overnight on board.

D2 TRA ON–CAI BE–HO CHI MINH CITY                                    (B/L)

WHEN TO GO?

Vietnam's weather varies greatly from north to south with each area marked by slightly different seasons and climates. Because of these regional variations, there are always pleasant and favorable areas to visit throughout the year. The north, overall, tends to be cooler than the rest of the country. During the winter from November till February, the day time temperature is cool and the weather often damp. Central Vietnam experiences warm weather from July to October and wet, colder weather from November to May. Although the temperature remains fairly steady throughout the year, Southern Vietnam has two seasons. The dry season lasts from December to May, while from June to November is the rainy season
